  • Climate change:
an opportunity for the world's development and the green and blue economies

    FIBES Sevilla, April 28 and 29, 2022

The Summit

The 1st. Climate Action Sevilla Summit Green & Blue Economy, will be held FIBES-Sevilla, is presented as a meeting point for all the economic sectors involved in climate restoration, as well as a catalyst that stimulates public-private collaboration and favours the attraction of investments towards the green and blue economies.

This is a great opportunity for economic development and job creation for our country. A large number of companies linked to the green and sustainable economy can benefit from the aid of the European Union's post-pandemic recovery plan. To this end, sustainable and environmentally friendly development must be guaranteed.

In this respect, the renewal of classic sectors such as energy, eco-industry, transport, tourism, ports, fisheries, agriculture, and aquaculture is essential. At the same time, new business niches, such as biotechnology, renewable energies, surveillance and monitoring of the seas and forests through 5G and big data, etc., must be encouraged.

The 1st. Climate Action Sevilla Summit Green & Blue Economy, initiative of Fibes Sevilla, Seastainable Ventures, Inspiring Events and Summit4Oceans, is a global debate in wich Seville and Spain will be the spearhead of the green and blue economies sector at a global level.

Environment-related companies and sectors are essential to ensure a green, inclusive and economically developed future, as well as to mitigate climate change.

Public-private cooperation at the national, European and global levels is an indispensable factor in generating the economic and human resources that will enable the development of the green and blue economies.

Sustainable management

The conservation and sustainable use of our surroundings and environment are a priority, as seas and forests are the best regulators of the climate. Some 2.6 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide, one third of the CO2 released by burning fossil fuels, is absorbed by forests every year.

Oceans also absorb about 30% of the carbon dioxide emitted and more than 90% of the heat produced by global warming.

By managing healthy oceans and forests in a sustainable way, using renewable energy, we create alternatives to fossil fuels and traditional food production, among other.

Economic opportunities

The climate crisis, together with its indisputable meaning for the future of our planet and humanity, represents a major economic transformation. This was made clear at the recent COP26 summit in Glasgow. It is a necessary and unstoppable development, which must also lead to the creation of wealth and jobs.

Climate Action Sevilla Expo

In addition to the Summit, the Climate Action Sevilla Expo Green & Blue Economy is held, whose stands and networking space represent an excellent opportunity to identify projects and establish collaboration links between the agents that promote climate action.
